What are PDO threads?

These threads are a dissolvable Polydioxanone which are similar to sutures used in medicine, particularly heart surgery. They are minimally invasive and are absorbed by the body within about 6 months however, the effect of the treatment can last up to 2 years.

How do they work?

The PDO threads relax the muscle and tendons and at the same time stimulate the formation of collagen, elastin and hyaluronic acid which supports the tightening and lifting effect of the skin. Due to the different types of threads, treatment can be carried out to support a lift in the cheek area or even in very delicate areas around the eyes. The threads are not restricted to the face; they can be used in other areas including the neck and upper arms. Depending on which area is treated and which type of thread is used the results may appear immediately or achieved over weeks to months.

The threads can be used in conjunction with dermal fillers.
